About

Reading Keyboard Instructions is a reading practice resource. Learners read an instruction and do it on the computer. It is designed for adult newcomers learning English in LINC Literacy classes.

Reading Keyboard Instructions was designed and developed by Jeremy Wilson, with assistance from Donna Clarke and John Vasquez.

It was built with the help of Anthropic's Claude Code, OpenAI's Codex, and ElevenLabs.

This resource is designed with accessibility in mind and aims to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.

  • dyslexia-friendly font choices
  • adjustable pointer size and colour
  • an option to show the spaces between words

  • clear, consistent navigation

The task instructions say “click”, but the text cursor task is graded on where the cursor ends up, not on a mouse click. It can be done with the mouse or with the arrow keys.
